Artist Janice McDermott

Artist Janice McDermott : has spent a lifetime fascinated by the wild and beautiful natural world and she has been passionate about portraying it in a variety of media from her earliest memories. She now paints mostly in soft pastels, watercolour and oils. Her favorite subjects are water and the plants that grow in it, forests and rocks of Northern Ontario. Her several moves around southern Ontario have revealed the great wealth of hills and trees, lakes and streams, farm life and wildlife that we share. These are the subjects of her mostly realist paintings.
She seeks to focus attention on unspoiled views of our wonderful world before they disappear under or are otherwise disturbed near the pavements of “progress”. Janice hopes to draw people to value the richness, beauty and peacefulness of God’s creation which is such a powerful antidote for the hectic life that has become the norm nowadays. It is a providential route to health and joy for people and planet.

She has exhibited in:
Fine Arts of Milton Studio Tour, 2002 – 2008, 2010 - 2011
